Cactus Comfort Ladies - A Healing Ministry

Our Mission Statement: The focus of Cactus Comfort Ministry is to provide comfort and prayer in the form of a handmade item, such as a prayer shawl or lap blanket to those suffering from a loss, illness, or experiencing an emotional/spiritual crisis.

History: We knit, crochet, and quilt items such as shawls and blankets. We pray for all the recipients and have each item blessed.

First and foremost, our priority is to the parishioners at St. Mark's Church, their family and friends. Items are provided free to those who are in need of comfort for any reason.

Additional Benefactors: We strive to give back to the community at least twice a year. We do this by providing comfort items such as lap blankets to nursing homes, hats to patients in a cancer treatment center, and by providing baptismal blankets to the newborns of St. Mark’s Church parishioners.

Funding:  We sell items once a year to raise funds for our supplies. We do this to supplement the donations we receive of yarn throughout the year.

Lord’s Will: It is our pleasure to use our talents for the good of others. Since we never know where the item is going, and who will receive it, we trust that the Lord will guide us in our creating, and that the comfort is reached at the right time.

We meet year round in the NW Meeting room in the back of the church
Thursdays 9:00-10:30 am, for further information, please contact Debra Babyak at cactuscomfort@comcast.net or at home 797-6987.

Rosary Makers meet on the second Saturday of the month 1 - 3 pm in the back classroom.  We make and send Rosaries all over the world, including Europe, Asia, Africa, South America, Rome and the Holy Land.  Proceeds from the sales in the Rosary case help to offset a small portion of the cost to send Rosaries all over the world.  For more information, call the Parish office 469-7835.
